24th January 2004. The temperature was just above freezing and we were setting up for the first series of tests of the year. I am not as large as I look in the picture, you just pay a visual price to stay warm for a four hours when standing still. You can also see G0FDZ's new laser transmitter.

24th January 2004. G0FDZ's new laser transmitter on its first outing. A 10 mW HeNe laser, modulator and beam expander are housed in the strong aluminium box case.

24th January 2004. G0FDZ's new laser transmitter on its first outing. Shown here are the micrometer adjusters for both azimuth and elevation. Even with such excellent engineering the alignment setting was critical. Note the springs to eliminate backlash and enable the return movement.
